Start off by telling us about yourself and your journey so far!
My name is Brittany Lesser. I got my Bachelor of Science in Health Education from the University of Florida. I am a NASM certified personal trainer and a NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist. I currently am an online coach and social media influencer talking about all things fitness, nutrition, lifestyle, fit pregnancy, and now postpartum and being a first-time mom!
How did you get into fitness?
I was always in sports and competitive cheerleading growing up, and then I started at the gym with my mom in high school. I really loved working out and first became a long-distance runner. I ran a half marathon and tons of miles while also struggling with body image issues, disordered eating, and over-exercising. After my half marathon, I saw photos of women like Jamie Eason and Amanda Latona who were in fitness competitions. I wanted to have their physique - muscular but feminine. So I stopped running and started weight lifting. This is where I found my true passion in fitness. I started a blog, youtube channel, and documented my journey to the stage. I competed in two bikini competitions and got first place in my first and third in my second. While I loved competing, I struggled a lot with balance, body image, and going back to real life after a show. I started focusing on health and eating/training for life and never looked back.
What's your fitness specialty?
Helping women (and some men) reach their fitness goals without extremes - no obsessive dieting, no hours of cardio, no unrealistic ways. I help and show women that you can reach your fitness and physique goals while still living your life and enjoying it every step of the way. Making fitness a part of your life, not your entire life.
What's your preferred style of encouragement?
I just love encouraging others to accept themselves and know they are capable of anything. This is why I'm on social media - to help and encourage people to live the life they want and support them in reaching their goals.
What would you recommend to someone that is new to the city, or working out, in terms of meeting and connecting with others?
Social Media! I have met most of my friends there. It's a great way to find others that are interested in the same things you are.
How do you track fitness goals?
I write in a journal every day about my daily, weekly, and monthly goals (life and fitness).
What do you track for fitness goals?
Progressive overload! I make sure I'm progressing in my lifts over time.

Who are your fitness icons/mentors/heroes/inspiration?
It sounds cheesy, but I look up to myself and how far I've come. I do love getting inspiration from others though as well, and there are way too many to name!
What is your favorite food?
I honestly don't know if I could pick one. I LOVE food! Treat foods: pizza, froyo, chocolate, anything dessert. Healthy: ALL. Japanese sweet potatoes, veggies, salad, etc.
What’s your go-to song or artist at the gym?
I listen to so many different types of music. For gym, it's mostly electronic.
What are three interesting facts about you?
1. I can wiggle my ears.
2. I'm shy and love to be alone, but I'm also extremely outgoing.
3. My tongue is abnormally long. Literally goes down to my chin.
What is your greatest achievement and how has it shaped you?
My son. Having him changed my life and my outlook on life. It has shaped me in so many ways, but he motivates me to be better in all aspects of life and to show him he can do anything, be who he wants, and succeed if he works for it.
If you could master one skill you do not have, what would it be?
Believing in myself or downplaying what I'm capable of. I have a hard time believing I can do something that seems out of reach.
