Start off by telling us about yourself and your journey so far!
My name is Jayde Nicole, I am 32 years old. I have been vegetarian since I was about 5 years old and vegan for the last 5 years. Going vegan was the best thing I have ever done for my health. I recently took the Cornell University online certification program in Plant-Based Nutrition and try to educate people on choosing a plant-based lifestyle.
How did you get into fitness?
I was very skinny as a child, I got into sports and other activities to try and gain muscle. As I got older I got more into fitness for my overall health, ability, and strength.
What's your fitness specialty?
My expertise is in nutrition. It's alarming how little most people know about what they are putting in their bodies all day every day for their entire life.
What would you recommend to someone that is new to the city, or working out, in terms of meeting and connecting with others?
Well, I am very anti-social lol, so I am the wrong person to ask. When I am traveling or in a new place and I want to get a workout in I usually head to a hiking trail or do a workout in my hotel room while blasting my favorite music.
How do you track fitness goals?
For me, if I feel good, strong and happy I am on the right track. If I feel a little stiff, I add more stretching or flexibility exercises. If I feel bloated I do some cardio.
What is the best way to check out your work and provide support?
I have a blog where I share recipes and nutrition info www.JaydeNicole.com and my Instagram @JaydeNicole
What is your favorite food?
I love Mexican food! So I am opening a plant-based Mexican restaurant :) www.SugarTaco.com @SugarTacoLA
What’s your go-to song or artist at the gym?
Drake. It reminds me of being in Mexico and I don’t have to skip over songs so its great for working out.
If you could master one skill you do not have right now, what would it be?
Seeing the future ;)
