I'm Mad Carolina, Fitness Influencer, And This Is How I Workout

Start off by telling us about yourself and your journey so far...
I'm a Fitness Influencer, Youtuber, and Model. I think that the secret of success and balance is to have a routine prosecutable over the long term. Every day I start my mornings with a cup of lemon water with stevia and then a good breakfast. I love porridge with eggs or some protein pancakes. I prefer to workout in the morning when the gym is empty for 2 hours, then it's time to return home, reply to e-mail and work.

How did you get into fitness?
My passion for fitness and healthy lifestyle started 5 years ago. I was 20 kg less than now. I was so skinny and my fitness routine wasn't healthy at all; lots of cardio and no carbs. What is funny is the fact that now is the total opposite: weight training and a good amount of carbs!

I started by reading many books about training and nutrition and following many fitness Youtuber's; then my first bikini competition, my Youtube channel and my work as a fitness influencer and entrepreneur.

What's your fitness specialty?
I always do Weight training but I also love to do body weight, especially when I travel or if I do home workouts. I also love to combine them and do supersets to really feel the burn!

What's your preferred style of encouragement?
Do what you love and always remember that anything is possible. 

What would you recommend to someone that is new to working out?
My recommendation is to find the kind of sport that makes you say "I love what I do and I cannot wait to do it!" that's what happens to me with the gym, it is magic for me!

For example, I Personally don't like to run, so I know that if I need to introduce cardio during my workout I do body circuits or 30' minutes of incline treadmill.

How do you track fitness goals?
I think that the most concrete method to track my progress is to take a photo every month and check it up with my coach. To me is more important to love the way I look and see myself good in the mirror instead of weighing myself every morning.

What is the best way to check out your work and provide support?
I love to stay in contact with my followers and to share my fitness/personal journey. It is so important to share the good and the bad with no mask because anyone is perfect even if social media can be misleading sometimes. I'm very active on social media and you can find me as Mad CarolinaYoutube channel.

Who are your fitness icons/mentors/heroes/inspiration?
So easy! Arnold Schwarzenegger is my inspiration: perfect athlete, famous actor, governor. I have a huge picture of him in my studio with the famous word "conquer" he's so inspiring to me.

What is your favorite food?
I'm Italian and my favorite food is pizza, love it!

What is your word for 2019?
Determination. In December I will compete on my first WBFF show as a bikini diva and I'm so excited and determined!

What’s your go-to song or artist at the gym?
It depends, usually I listen to some Spotify playlist and I try to change them every day. I love hip-hop, latin, and rap.

What are three interesting facts about you?
1. I'm very impulsive.
2. I'm all about self-deprecating (I mean, you take on changes in life, and you're so witty and self-deprecating).
3. I'm a very determinate person.

What is your greatest achievement and how has it shaped you?
When someone wrote my telling me that "because of me" they change their lifestyle, they stop suffered from some food disorder, they finally start a program in the gym or to be more healthy..." That's my biggest satisfaction and the reason why I continue to do what I do.

If you could master one skill you do not have, what would it be?
I would like to be more elastic as Ashley Kaltwasser!

Warm up: incline treadmill for 5 minutes, then 2 x 40 of banded squat bounce
- Single leg Romanian deadlift barbell 3x12 (for each leg and no rest)
- Crossed back lunges on superset with walking lunges 3x20+20
- Leg press wide stance 4x15
- Gluteus machines or donkey kicks 3x10 (for each leg and no rest)
