I'm Matteo Fuzzi, Crossfit Coach, And This Is How I Workout

Start off by telling us about yourself and your journey!
My name is Matteo Fuzzi, I am 41 years old and I live in Italy. I joined the CrossFit world in 2009 and since then a 10-year journey has begun! I have developed several projects in both competitive and entrepreneurial fields. Among the things worthy of note, I am the owner of Reebok CrossFit Ravenna, one of the most influential Italian CrossFit Boxes and the founder of R2F ™ Road to the Fittest Program, a well-established remote coaching structure.

How did you get into fitness?
I started at the age of 14 with martial arts, then I moved to fitness and finally to CrossFit!

What's your fitness specialty?

What's your preferred style of encouragement?
I love talking to my athletes and working constantly on mindset and mental toughness.

What would you recommend to someone that is new to the city, or working out, in terms of meeting and connecting with others?
To come to my Box! Reebok CrossFit Ravenna is the best thing that can happen to all lovers of fitness and sport!

How do you track fitness goals?
Train Heroic - Online strength & conditioning software.

What metrics do you track for your goals?
All the things that represent a benchmark in CrossFit, such as specific workouts, 1RM, Gymnastic and Aerobic Capacity tests, etc...

How are your favorite workouts structured?
I personally love the AMRAP structure for my workouts because it allows me to manage an early definite time domain, but I am fascinated by the performances of the elite athletes in the EMOM structure!

What is your favorite food?

What is your word for 2019?
This is a whole new level, an “I do not think” person. They are so well prepared, they do not think and just do. They spend hours and hours of time (years actually) of getting prepared, that no matter what is thrown at them they are going to deliver that end result at all times, over and over and over again. They will be exceptional at it. Their instincts are so dead on, that no matter what variable, what problem is thrown at them, they can adjust on the fly and have the ability to get themselves in the “zone”.

What are three interesting facts about you?
1. I worked 11 years as a teacher at kindergarten! I'll tell you the other two facts at the next interview!

What is your greatest achievement and how has it shaped you?
The biggest result I got in the CrossFit was to qualify 2 athletes at Reebok CrossFit Games for two consecutive years (2017-2018) and another 3 at CrossFit Regionals (2013-2014-2018).

If you could master one skill you do not have, what would it be?
Learn to ski at 41!
